Pink Out Day For Breast Cancer Awareness
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October—PS/IS 163 wears pink to honor survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and to support the progress we are making together to defeat breast cancer. Our Saturday Cooking Club also baked pink sugar cookies and made pink chocolate covered pretzels.

“Give One Take One” Walls
Students and teachers discussed different ways to show respect. Each floor used heart post-its to fill a large heart with words of kindness/positive affirmations/quotes. On days when you feel you can use a little positivity, take a post-it. Feel free to leave kind messages at anytime!
Back The Blue in Support of the NYPD
In honor and support of the NYPD, all staff and students were encouraged to wear BLUE or anything that supports the NYPD. As a school, we paused for a moment of silence to honor, remember, and mourn Police Officers, Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora.

Take a look at our "Community and Culture" school mural! Thrive Collaborative and their team of teaching artists worked with students to design and transform our entryway into a welcoming and inclusive space for the whole school community to enjoy and appreciate!

World Kindness Day 2020:
To celebrate World Kindness Day, students wrote ideas of all of the ways that they are able to spread kindness to their friends, families, and community.
